MILITARY CLEARANCE APPLICATION CHANGES
Military clearance applications have been the biggest delay in any property purchase in Turkey, due to security regulations any foreign national purchasing property in Turkey has had to apply for permission from the local authority.
In a new regulation which has been put in place at the Land Registry, if any foreign citizen has obtained military clearance for a specific parcel and plot of land, after May 2011, then any subsequent foreign buyers do not need to apply for military clearance when purchasing from the same parcel and plot.
Therefore meaning that the said parcel and plot have already been investigated by the military and do not need to be investigated further. If any foreign buyers have taken receipt of their title deeds on the estate, then there is no need to apply for military clearance and immediately the transfer of the Title Deeds can be done, either by the homeowners in person or by lawyer power of attorney.
